Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice describes how Cass County Busted Mugshots handles information connected with the reference pages, search tools, contact messages, cookies, and links to official Illinois records systems. It does not change the privacy rules of a sheriff, police department, court, IDOC, federal locator, news publisher, or search partner reached from here.

Information Sent Directly

When a visitor types a name, place, or other term into a search box, the query is passed to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Cass County Busted Mugshots does not store or maintain a log of those search terms on its own system. The provider’s privacy notice and terms control what happens after the request leaves the page.

Messages sent through an email address or contact form can include the sender’s contact details and the text needed to answer. Those messages are kept for reply and basic recordkeeping. They are not shared outside the operating organization unless disclosure is required by law or needed to address a valid legal request.

Technical Details and Cookies

Normal page delivery can create technical records. Depending on the hosting, analytics, and security services in use, those records may include:

  • IP address or an abbreviated network address;
  • browser name and version;
  • device type and operating system;
  • pages viewed and approximate time spent;
  • the referring page, if a referrer is supplied; and
  • date and time stamps used for performance and security.

Cookies or similar tools may help understand how visitors use the pages, remember a setting, measure traffic, or support a feature. Browser controls can block or delete cookies. Some functions may behave differently after a block, and a partner tool may set its own cookies under its own notice.

How Information Is Used

Information is used for ordinary operation and maintenance, including:

  • keeping the pages available and responsive;
  • sending search requests to the selected partner service;
  • learning which reference pages are useful;
  • finding errors, abuse, and technical faults; and
  • showing advertising that may be relevant to a visitor.

These uses help maintain a private reference service. They do not give the operator control over the official records linked from the pages.

Links to Other Services

The pages link to the Cass County Sheriff’s office led by Sheriff Devron Ohrn, city police offices, the Cass Circuit Clerk and Judici, Illinois law and courts, IDOC, federal locators, local news, archives, and other public-record resources. Historical references to Morgan County Jail are treated as custody-context links, not a promise that the facility currently receives every Cass arrest. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination’s own privacy policy, cookies, and data practices apply. Cass County Busted Mugshots does not control a linked government office, publisher, search provider, analytics service, or advertising platform.

Some advertising partners can recognize activity across more than one website for their own measurement or ad selection. That activity occurs on their systems and is governed by their notices.

Who May Receive Information

Personal information is not sold by the operator as a standalone mailing list. Information may nevertheless reach the following parties as part of the service:

  • search partners that process a submitted query;
  • analytics and measurement providers;
  • advertising networks and their service vendors; and
  • law-enforcement or government bodies responding to a valid legal order or other lawful demand.

A message may also be disclosed when needed to protect the service, comply with law, or investigate misuse.

Security Is a Best Effort

Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect contact messages and service data. No internet-connected system, email account, or transmission is completely secure. The operator cannot promise that information will never be intercepted, lost, misdirected, or accessed without authorization.

Visitors Under 18

The service is intended for adults and is not knowingly designed to collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor sends personal data, a parent or guardian may use the Contacts route to ask for its deletion, subject to legal and operational limits.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and the limits of the systems involved, a person may ask to:

  • receive a copy of personal information held by the operator;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • request deletion of information that can lawfully be removed; and
  • object to or limit certain processing.

Requests should identify the information and the contact method used. Search queries handled by a third-party provider must be addressed to that provider. Browser settings can also control cookies and some tracking tools.

Changes to This Notice

This notice may be revised as the service, vendors, law, or data practices change. A revised version takes effect when it is posted here. Visitors should review the displayed notice before submitting a contact message or using a partner search tool.
