Not a Government Office
Cass County Busted Mugshots is not affiliated with the Cass County Sheriff, any city police department, a jail, the Illinois Department of Corrections, or another government agency. It cannot confirm whether a person is in custody, say when someone was released, post bond, transfer money, or pull an official booking record. A government office must answer those questions directly.
For an emergency, call 911. For a records or custody question, use the official agency contact below and ask for the current records custodian or receiving-facility route.

Historical news entries identify Morgan County Jail for several Cass arrests. Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, 300 West Court Street, Jacksonville, Illinois 62650, 217-243-6123, is a facility-side verification contact only after Cass officials identify the destination.
Where to Send the Question
Choose the office by the record you need, not by a generic search result.
- For a new Cass-road or unincorporated arrest, call the Cass County Sheriff and ask which agency and facility are involved.
- For a Beardstown arrest, use Beardstown Police, then the city’s FOIA instructions for a written request.
- For an Ashland arrest, use Ashland Police or the Village form, remembering that the Sheriff also covers the Village.
- For a Virginia arrest, use the city-government FOIA information and the county-listed police number. City Hall can identify the current records officer.
- For a court outcome, contact the Cass Circuit Clerk at 100 E. Springfield Street, Virginia, Illinois 62691, 217-452-7225, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or use Judici when the case is public.
- For a sentenced state prisoner, use the Illinois DOC inmate search. For federal or immigration custody, use the official BOP or ICE locator.
What to Include in a Request
Give the custodian enough detail to find one event. State the person’s name if known, arresting agency, date range, location, report or case number, and the exact records requested. Ask separately for the arrest-information record, a booking photo if taken and releasable, custody receipt or transfer details, and any public disposition notation.
- Ask the agency to confirm whether it created or retains the record.
- Ask where the person was received if current custody is the question.
- Request electronic delivery if available and confirm any copy cost.
- Ask the office to identify a withheld field and its legal basis.
The county FOIA form supports electronic or paper copies and a preferred electronic format. It does not publish a special booking-photo fee or a Sheriff-specific turnaround promise. Confirm current instructions before sending a request.
